I know that blogging can be very helpful when you would like quick feedback on an idea. There is the danger that people will use it as anonymous forum to vent. Thanks for getting us started Gwen. We'll see where it goes.
I like the Christian Science Monitor weblog, they've given the name, "Liblog".
This is what they say about their blog:
-------------
"About Liblog
Liblog, written by the newspaper's library staff, offers information from quality online and print resources. Some of these resources have been used for background research for Monitor articles. Others are suggested as authoritative and current reference sources that readers may find valuable for their own research.
Liblog is written by Leigh Montgomery and Alan Messmer. "
-----------
Their liblog also seems to serve as an index and a subject guide to CS Monistor articles.
The blog is a good idea. Sorry it wasn't 'advertised' in the new FYI for more staff to hear about this opportunity.
